One of the biggest love stories that people don’t talk about enough is “CSI: Cyber” Season 2 star Ted Danson and his wife, Mary Steenburgen. She is an Oscar-winning actress who has appeared in a number of projects, such as “Step Brothers”, “Elf”, “Philadelphia” and “Melvin and Howard”. Danson’s extensive filmography includes “Cheers”, “Three Men and a Baby” and “Mr. Mayor”. But, let’s go ahead and talk about their love because it is deep.

“I’m madly in love with Mary Steenburgen. She’s a remarkable human being, so I’m incredibly blessed,” Danson told Us Weekly in 2017. “It’s like heaven on Earth. If I were to die, I can say, I know what it’s like to be loved and to love. ” Okay, okay, now you see how much he appreciates this relationship. They fall in love in 1993 on the set of “Pontiac Moon” and get married two years later. And the timing was good. “We met at 40 and 45, and we had lived a bit,” she told People. “We met at a time when we had both looked at demons within.”

These two are now enjoying their time as grandparents. “I want as long as possible in my life with Marie,” he told People. “I know there will be all of its difficult parts, but I want to experience love in all of these times.”

Legends of Tomorrow confirms the existence of JSA on Earth-Prime Wed, 21 Jul 2021 22:46:00 +0000

An episode of Season 6 of Legends of Tomorrow confirmed that the Justice Society of America existed in one form or another in Post-Crisis Earth-Prime.

Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for Legends of tomorrow Season 6, Episode 10, “Bad Blood”.

Legends of tomorrow season 6 established that the Justice Society of America (or JSA for short) exists in one form or another on Earth-Prime. This is notable, as there had been no previous indication that the team still existed outside of the new Earth-2 of Star girl following Crisis on Infinite Earths. This begs the question of how it is possible for the JSA to exist in a publicly recognized form when there is nothing in history to suggest openly operating costumed vigilantes during WWII in the Earth-Prime post-crisis reality.

The main plot of the Legends of tomorrow The episode “Bad Blood” found wizard John Constantine and alien hunter Spooner Cruz traveling through time to 1939 and the town of Albacete, Spain, in search of a mystical artifact called the Fountain of the Imperium. While there, the two befriended a mute teenager named Fernando, who loved comics and thought the Spooner gun was La Torera; a masked heroine similar to Zorro. Later in the episode, after being taken hostage by Spanish nationalists who were also looking for the Imperium Fountain, Spooner tried to comfort Fernando by telling him that real superheroes would come to their rescue. This led Fernando to inquire, “Like La Torerea and (the) JSA? “

The Legends of Tomorrow has encountered a version of the JSA in the past, but it has happened before Crisis on infinite earths, with little indication, it still existed in the revised Earth-Prime timeline. Even if they had, this JSA had been a secret group organized by the US government, so there was no plausible way that a teenage comic reader from Spain could have known of their existence. It is even more unlikely that he will somehow know the JSA unique to the reality of Star girl. Ironically, there is an explanation that clears up the confusion of the various JSA teams, but it lies in the comics of Our Earth and the story that first introduced the DC Comics Multiverse.

Pre-Crisis Arrowverse Earth-1 JSA

My El supergirl Justice Society of America elite arrowverse

The first mention of the Justice Society of America in the Arrowverse has arrived Legends of tomorrowThe Season 1 finale when the Legends were faced with a hooded man who ran over a duplicate Waverider next to their ship. The man introduced himself as Rex “Hourman” Tyler and a member of the Justice Society of America, claiming to have been sent back in time by a future version of Mick Rory to prevent the Legends and their leader, Rip Hunter, from ascending to edge. their ship and traveling until their death. Legends of tomorrow Season 2 featured the rest of Hourman’s team, including Stargirl, Doctor Mid-Nite, Obsidian, Commander Steel, and Amaya Jiwe.

This version of the JSA was a secret organization, operating in secret to take on those missions that ordinary American soldiers could not handle during World War II. Most of the team died in the line of duty, having been recruited by Rip Hunter to take the reality-altering Spear of Destiny Shards and hide them across the timeline. This is why in the original Earth-1 timeline before Crisis on Infinite Earths, there was no trace of costumed heroes before Oliver Queen became Green Arrow and Barry Allen became The Flash. It’s also worth noting that there is no indication that this team existed in Earth-Prime’s post-Crisis timeline.

Post-Crisis Arrowverse Earth-2 JSA

A new multiverse has been formed as a result of Crisis on Infinite Earths, with the worlds of Earth-1, Earth-38 and Earth of Black Lightning merge into a new world called Earth-Prime. A new Earth-2 was also formed, which became part of the Star girl series. The Justice Society of America was the first superhero team in Earth-2 history, coming together during World War II and remaining active until most of the team were killed in battle. with their sworn enemies in the Injustice Society on Christmas Eve 2010. Courtney Whitmore, who adopted the name Stargirl after awakening the cosmic staff of Starman, formed a new version of the JSA after the fight against the Injustice Society . This new team operated in secret, like the Earth-1 JSA, but the original Justice Society of America and its individual members were frequently featured in newspapers of the time, according to Pat Dugan. Until Fernando mentioned the JSA in Legends of tomorrow season 6, there is no indication that a similar team is operating on Earth-Prime after Crisis on Infinite Earths.

“The flash of two worlds”

Flash of Two Worlds Jay Garrick Barry Allen discusses comics on Earth-1

The story details how Barry Allen accidentally crossed the barrier between worlds and ended up on Earth-2 in Jay Garrick’s hometown of Keystone City. This amazed Barry, who knew all about Jay Garrick and his secret identity, having been a fan of Flash comics as a child and taking inspiration from Garrick to choose his own superhero codename. When Jay Garrick asked how Barry read his childhood adventures, Barry theorized that the writer must have somehow “listening“to Garrick’s Earth and transcribes the events of Jay’s life thinking he was imagining the stories himself.

Theory: JSA exists in Earth-Prime comics

Taking into account “The Flash of Two Worlds”, it seems likely that Justice Society of America exists on Earth-Prime as fictional comic book characters. While it’s possible the team also existed in some covert ability (like Earth-1’s JSA seen in Legends of tomorrow season 2) it seems unlikely that the American government of the day would allow a publisher to print books relying on a team that wanted to be secretive. It also seems likely, given that most Arrowverse writers love to nod to classic comics in their scripts, that the mention of the JSA was an intentional reference to “The Flash of Two Worlds,” which had already been referenced several times. times on Flash. The simplest and most logical explanation for Fernando to be a fan of the JSA is that an Earth-Prime comic book author developed a psychic connection with Earth-2 and saw the adventures of the Justice Society of America unfold in their dreams.

Comics posted record sales during COVID. Could they give Danbury Shopping Center a boost? Tue, 20 Jul 2021 20:37:39 +0000 As the comics hit record sales last year as people searched for home entertainment during the COVID-19 pandemic, Newbury Comics is adding a location at the Danbury Fair Mall.

It is the second Newbury Comics store in Connecticut after The Shoppes at Buckland Hills in Manchester. The Boston-based chain also sells vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, T-shirts, and pop culture-related collectibles like Funko Pop figures.

A Newbury Comics executive said on Tuesday the chain was focusing on top-selling comics and new series, without the more comprehensive selection from some independent stores, including older comics purchased for resale. She added that Japanese manga comics are all the rage.

Solaris announces important new discovery in Warintza East – resource world magazine Tue, 20 Jul 2021 16:20:00 +0000

Solaris Resources Inc. (TSX: SLS; OTCQB: SLSSF) (“Solaris” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce a significant new discovery in connection with the first drilling of the Warintza East target on its Warintza project (“Warintza” or “ the project ”) in south-eastern Ecuador.

The highlights are listed below, with the corresponding images in Figures 1 and 2 and the results detailed in Tables 1-2. A dynamic 3D model is available on the Company’s website.

Strong points

  • SLSE-01 was the first hole ever drilled at Warintza East and drilled approximately 1,300m east of Warintza Central, where a recent extension drilling to the east intersected 1,000m of 0.60% of CuEq¹ from the surface (see press release of July 7, 2021), with the area still open in that direction
  • SLSE-01 was drilled to a total depth of 1,213m with assays reported here for the first 320m of core from surface, which were prioritized for transport, cutting, preparation and analysis – the results for the rest of the hole are expected at the end of August / Beginning of September
  • SLSE-01 returned 320 m of 0.46% CuEq¹ from the surface, including 54 m of 0.70% CuEq¹, in an open interval, marking a significant new surface discovery at Warintza East, one of the five primary targets from the 7 km x 5 km group of porphyry targets. set on property
  • Warintza East is defined by coincident copper and molybdenum soil anomalies, approximately 1200 m in length, and a high conductivity geophysical anomaly extending from the target to Warintza Central (see Figure 1).
  • Further drilling will target the Warintza East expansion, with a focus on the open area between Warintza Central and this new discovery (see Figure 2)

Mr. Jorge Fierro, Vice President, Exploration, commented: “The discovery at Warintza East marks the third major discovery of copper in the massive 7 km x 5 km Warintza porphyry pile. Importantly, the Warintza East footprint overlaps with the conceptual designs of the Warintza Central pit, which itself continues to grow eastward with recent results. Future drilling will focus on the open and undrilled area between these two areas. “

Technical information and quality control and quality assurance

The results of sample analyzes have been independently verified through a quality control / quality assurance (“QA / QC”) program that includes the insertion of certified blind reference materials (standards), blanks and duplicate samples in the field. Logging and sampling is carried out at a secure facility of the company located in Quito, Ecuador. The drill core is cut in half on site and the samples are transported safely to ALS Labs in Quito. Pulp samples are sent to ALS Labs in Lima, Peru and Vancouver, Canada for analysis. The total copper and molybdenum contents are determined by four acid digestion with AAS finish. Gold is determined by fire assay of a 30 gram load. ALS Labs is independent from Solaris. In addition, selected pulp control samples are sent to the Bureau Veritas laboratory in Lima, Peru. Solaris is not aware of any drilling, sampling, recovery or other factors that could materially affect the accuracy or reliability of the data referred to in this document. The quality of the ZTEM data has been validated by a qualified external professional using data validation procedures that meet high industry standards. The analytical data for the surface samples collected comes from recent interpretations derived from ZTEM data and from previous operators, as detailed in the technical report titled “Resource Estimate of the Warintza Central Cu-Mo Porphyry Deposit” prepared by Equity Exploration Consultants Inc . dated December 13, 2019 and available on the Company’s profile and website on SEDAR. Drill data has been verified by Donald Taylor using data validation and quality assurance procedures to high industry standards.

Brand new film studio to arrive in Dutchess County Tue, 20 Jul 2021 10:54:49 +0000

The Hudson Valley is truly becoming “the new Hollywood”.

With so many celebrity sightings and shoots in the area, we recently dubbed the area “Hollywood on the Hudson”.

In 2019, film productions increased by more than 55% compared to 2018, confirmed Laurent Rejto of the Hudson Valley Film Commission.

After a sluggish year in 2020, due to the pandemic, Hollywood on the Hudson was fully effective in 2021. So much so that Fox 5 reported last month to “find out if the Hudson Valley is in becoming the new Hollywood “.

For all the news that the Hudson Valley shares, be sure to follow Hudson Valley Post on Facebook, download the Hudson Valley Post mobile app, and sign up for the Hudson Valley Post newsletter.

One of the reasons for the Hollywood boom in the Hudson Valley is that the area reopened before New York City, according to the Fox report.

“The Hudson Valley has everything you need to make a movie. We have urban environments, we have forests, we have mountains, we have rivers. You can shoot anything,” he said. said Laurent Rejto, director of the Hudson Valley Film Commission.

According to the Hudson Valley Film Commission, June was the busiest month for film and television productions in the Hudson Valley.

Productions in the Hudson Valley are likely to increase if reports of a new film studio in Dutchess County come true. The Times Union reports that a brand new film studio on the old IBM campus in East Fishkill will be officially announced in late July.

The Dutchess County Film Studio will be the Hudson Valley’s tallest soundstage and the region’s first new construction soundstage, according to the Times Union.

National Resources is building the Dutchess County studio. The company is working with Lionsgate Films to build a $ 100 million film and television production complex in Westchester County.

Amazon is also building a 631,000 square foot warehouse on the former IBM campus in East Fishkill. When complete, Amazon will create at least 500 full-time jobs and up to 700 part-time positions. Construction will lead to approximately 400 temporary positions.

In March, the Hudson Valley Post reported that Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor had been sold for an undisclosed amount to a company considering turning it into a motion picture production studio.

The unspeakable truth of Skeletor Tue, 20 Jul 2021 06:31:00 +0000

When Skeletor was first created, it was, as designer Mark Taylor shares in “The Toys That Made Us”, “the very essence of evil”. The bible from Filmation’s “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” series describes Skeletor as the last remaining ruler of Infinita, Eternia’s evil twin planet inhabited by demons and monsters. He was an “evil, megalomaniac and power-mad monster” determined to conquer Eternia. Granted, none of this was ever mentioned on the show, but it was the basis of Skeletor’s stories.

Then Mattel cast She-Ra, and for her cartoon debut, they created a being far more powerful and evil than Skeletor: Hordak.

This villain had succeeded in enslaving an entire world – Eternia’s twin planet, Etheria, which had replaced Infinita, never officially mentioned. Hordak even kidnapped a newborn baby – Adora, aka She-Ra – and brainwashed her into serving in his army, the Horde. Moreover, he knew Skeletor not as an equal, but as his former apprentice.

Skeletor never succeeded in conquering an entire world, and the magical power he had amassed had been learned from Hordak. Granted, “She-Ra: Princess of Power” established that Skeletor’s power had increased dramatically since her Hordak days, but suddenly this mysterious demonic figure with no real past seemed a little less intimidating. He had just been another lackey. A cog in the machine. It was a shattering backstory that has remained ever since.

Our 5 favorite Mystery Box 2021 subscriptions Mon, 19 Jul 2021 21:35:28 +0000

After enthusiastically speaking to my family about the letters in one of our weekly Zoom calls, my mom confessed to buying me a subscription to Dear Holmes, a courier service that sends mysteries through the mail in a series of weekly letters, gradually revealing a new case each month.

Turns out, this is just one of the many ways that stories and puzzle-solving experiences are delivered through the mail. A little later, a colleague at Wirecutter mentioned that she had received a case from the popular Instagram Hunt a killer service, and due to a mixture of professional curiosity and a personal desire to collect things to do if, for example, I was forced to isolate myself in my apartment for some reason, I started to delve into the enigmatic world of puzzles by mail.

For this guide, I researched companies that offered similar games, focusing on boxes with props and physical items in addition to clues and written stories. I read player reviews, checked each company’s website, and unearthed YouTube videos of gamers solving past cases to get a feel for what each service offered.

What I have found is that immersive games are broadly divided into two types of experiences: narrative mysteries that focus on inferring and exploring a fictional environment, and boxes full of puzzles. which aim to offer an escape room type experience at home.

Once I got a feel for the types of experiences available, I ordered and played through five options that my research seemed to illustrate what these boxes offer. Whether it’s the open world feeling of Mysterious Package Company boxes or experiences laden with clues in the campaign of Researchers Researchers, these boxes show what you can expect if one of these cryptic missives arrives at your doorstep.

During my research I also spoke to Mairi Nolan, an escape game reviewer and mystery storyteller, and Dave neale, the author of the most recent edition of the tabletop deduction game Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The Baker Street Irregulars. Both have helped me understand the process of putting these kinds of narrative puzzles together and what makes good puzzles different from bad puzzles.

Apparently, the puzzles inside these boxes are meant to challenge the player and engage their curiosity or observational skills, and all of these puzzles do, to varying degrees. But the best of these boxes takes the player to a place where they feel like they’ve solved a puzzle that only they could have solved. “Anything that turns you on or gives you an ‘aha’ moment is really good,” Nolan said. “In the end, it must give you joy.” Creating that epiphany feeling, the kind you usually get in novels only after the mystery has been solved for you on the last few pages, is where our favorite boxes shine.

Note on difficulty: The difficulty of the puzzle is relative and will vary (sometimes enormously) between players and even between boxes of the same department. The ratings below are based on my playing experience as someone who enjoys puzzles and mysteries and played a few similar boxes before I started working on this guide. Your mileage may vary.

Bill introduced to rename over 1,000 places with racist names Mon, 19 Jul 2021 19:43:00 +0000

Image of article titled Democrats Propose Bill to Rename Over 1,000 Landmarks With Racist Names - Not That America Is Racist Or Anything

Photo: Checubus (Shutterstock)

Congressional Democrats on Friday introduced a bill to rename forests, streams, lakes, mountain peaks and other landmarks around the country that include offensive language such as racial slurs to them. Blacks, Mexicans and Native Americans. That’s right, good people: the totally no-white supremacist nation which is absolutely do not racism-based sort of harbors a plethora of landmarks that bear names that whites should mumble in low voices while blacks watch them with the Pulp Fiction, Eyes of Samuel L. Jackson saying, “What’s not a mountain peak I’ve ever heard of?” Does it say “nigger” on “what? “”

Of Business intern:

According to the statement of lawmakers, questionable names have been identified for 1,441 places recognized by the federal government.

More than 600 places have the word “n——”, an insult to black people, in their name, according to one database from the US Geological Survey. In Oklahoma, there is Dead N—— Spring, so named because a deceased black person was found there, according to the USGS.

In New Mexico there is a tank called W ——— Tank, named with an insult to Mexicans living in the United States. Nearly 800 results are returned by the USGS database when searching for the term “s——,” an offensive word for Native American women.

I’m sorry, but I must oppose this slander of our great nation.

I have it by good authority (and by “authority”, I mean, “Texas”) that America is so devoid of historical racism and oppression that schools don’t need to teach things like slavery, the civil rights movement, Cesar Chavez, Native American history or even the writings of Martin Luther King Jr.-because once you remove all the pesky The absurdity of critical race theory from those stories there is really nothing more to say except what awesome teas these historical figures would have had until the moment when MLK released the cards for Spades and things got out of hand.

Certainly, this same nation without racism could not, in the 21st century, still be home to hundreds of lakes and rivers with names bearing racial slurs. For this to be true, America would need to have racism ingrained in its very fabric. How could this land have been a “shining city on the hill” if there is at least a five percent chance that this hill is called “Nigger Be Gone Hill?”

If this is true, then segregation did not end with Jim Crow, because while Oklahoma’s “Dead Nigger Spring” may not be legally separated, I just can’t imagine there being. has many black families who have listed it on their tourist routes.

Either way, the bill, which was introduced by Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Edward Markey and Representative Al Green, would establish an advisory board of civil rights experts and tribal organizations to review the landmarks in desperate need of new nicknames as well as asking the public to submit proposals for new names. “The board would then make name change recommendations to the appropriate government body, such as Congress in the case of federal land units,” Business Insider reports.

“We must immediately stop honoring the horrific legacy of racism and bigotry, and that is why I am bringing the place-name reconciliation law forward with my colleagues,” Warren said in a statement. declaration.

All jokes aside, this bill could potentially put Republicans in Congress in an awkward position. If they vote against, they’re basically saying, “Look, if I want to keep skiing the slopes of Porch Monkey Mountain, then that’s exactly what I’m going to do!” If they vote for, they must recognize the existence of nearly 1,500 monuments with racist names in a country they are trying to convince that not everyone is built on a culture of racism.

Who knew that the Republican war on honest American history could extend to the teaching of honest American geography?

CH-Bioforce selected to present at CleanEquity® Monaco 2021 Mon, 19 Jul 2021 09:16:04 +0000

LONDON, July 19, 2021 / PRNewswire / – CleanEquity® is an annual invitation-only event hosted by Innovator Capital, the Londonspecialized investment bank. The 30 best sustainable technologies must meet high standards set by the selection committee. The conference provides an intimate, collegial setting for inventors and entrepreneurs to share their stories with delegates – key decision makers looking to help them achieve their business and strategic goals.

Other partners and sponsors include Prince Albert II of that of Monaco Foundation, Cision, Covington & Burling, Cranfield University, MIT Solve, Monaco Economic Board and Taronis Fuels.

CH-Bioforce presents a solution for a more sustainable world

CH-Bioforce Oy has been identified as one of the most innovative sustainable technology companies in the world and has been selected to present its solutions and technology to investors, policymakers and media at CleanEquity 2021 in Monaco.

CH-Bioforce offers a sustainable and fully bio-based alternative to oil and food-based raw materials during the production of clothing, food packaging or cosmetics, for example. Their technology allows the conversion of current waste into valuable biopolymers that can be used in higher value-added applications.

CH-Bioforce has developed a revolutionary biomass fractionation technology, which allows the full use of biomass, the secondary flows of industrial production. Their technology allows the extraction of biomass components in an economically sound way and with extremely high quality.

At present, many secondary streams of industrial raw materials are not used – “waste” is burned, resulting in CO2 emissions and zero value. CH-Bioforce sees great value in these side streams and aims to change the status quo.

CH-Bioforce’s patented technology produces high quality biopolymers: high purity pulp, polymeric hemicellulose and sulfur-free lignin. Each of these material streams has a wide range of possible applications, including replacing fossil-based materials and less environmentally friendly bio-based products such as food-borne starch or cotton.

It is the only technology in the world capable of breaking down all the constituents of biomass in a single process. Almost any type of biomass can be used as the raw material in the process – both wood and non-wood, such as straw, so there are minimal limitations to the use of waste. This is how we can make many consumer goods more durable.

Review of Philip K. Dick – Times Square Chronicles Mon, 19 Jul 2021 04:06:47 +0000

A look back at Philip K. Dick

A look back at the life of Philip K. Dick, the great science fiction writer: he is credited with being the first to write dystopian fiction and, as such, had a “cult” audience. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Dick moved to San Francisco at a young age and began publishing at the age of 23. Dick did not receive much notoriety for his works, however, his “The High Castle” (a story about World War II 15 years later with a different ending) places him among the literary elite and he will win the Hugo Prize. for the best novel at 33.

Philip Dick’s fiction explored various philosophical and social themes, alternate realities, shams, monopoly societies, drug addiction, authoritarian governments, and altered states of consciousness.

In 1974, after a series of religious experiences, his work turned more towards questions of theology, philosophy and the nature of realities: “A Scan ner Darkly” (1977) and “Valis” (1981). Shortly after “Valis”, Dick died of a stroke. It was many years later that Dick’s writings were turned into films: “The Blade Runner” (1982); “Total Recall” (1990) and again in (2012); “Minority Report” (2002) and “The Adjustment Bureau” (2011). Amazon produced the multi-season TV adaptation “The Man in the High Castle” based on Dick’s 1962 novel. Channel 4 began producing the ongoing anthology series “Electric Dreams” based on various Dick stories. . In 2005, Time Magazine named “Ubik” (1969) one of the 100 Greatest Novels in the English Language.

Dick wrote 44 published novels and around 121 short stories, most of which appeared in science fiction magazines during his lifetime. He is the first science fiction writer to be included in the Library of America series. Dick continued to inspire other science fiction writers and in the end it gave us more of what Dick pioneered. One movie that comes to mind is “Mad Max”; a movie I saw in 1980, not well received by critics and audiences, however, the movie caught fire and several sequels were made over the course of many years.
